OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
As Lutherans we live by the understanding that our faithful response to God’s grace includes working for justice and peace and being an inclusive community that embraces all people, including those of every culture, race and sexual orientation. This response is rooted in an important Bible verse for us, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God...”
Ephesians 2:8.

We are diverse in faith, ethnicity, history and spirituality, but aligned in our desire to make a difference for good. We have a track record of standing on the side of love, justice, and peace.
We are people of many beliefs and backgrounds: people with a religious background, people with none, people who believe in a God, people who don’t, and people who let the mystery be.
We are Unitarian Universalist and Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Humanist, Jewish, Muslim, Pagan, atheist and agnostic.

We are a church that loves Jesus and loves our community. Our focus is to live out the gospel and love of Jesus every day. We accomplish this through various means. We have ministries within the church for the community such as Grief Share, Divorce Care and Divorce Care 4 Kids (DC4K), and AWANA. We have Home Groups throughout Missouri City, Sugar Land and Stafford. We host life relevant discussions seeking biblical answers while sitting around the table. We also find ways to engage our community through service projects and family friendly events. We believe that God has placed us in Missouri City for a reason and that is to be the hands of feet of Jesus where we are. We want to meet you and come to know you. Church is about building relationships and we would love to start that process with you.

On August 1, 1985, St. Laurence Catholic Church was founded as a new parish in the Diocese of Galveston-Houston. Fr. Laurence Connelly was appointed pastor and celebrated Mass for his parish of 210 families in an office building located on Sweetwater Boulevard in First Colony. By August 1988, the Parish Hall was erected and every parish event was held in this multi-purpose building until construction of the church, offices, meeting rooms and classrooms was completed four years later. On April 26, 1992, Bishop Joseph Fiorenza dedicated the newly constructed St. Laurence church building.

God does exist. There is only one God, in fact He is the Creator of everything.
We’re made in His image, which means we’re like Him in many ways, except that He’s God and we’re not. He’s loving and just and desires a relationship with us. As individuals with free will, we have the freedom to respond to the relationship God’s initiated with us, or not.
We’re free to choose to live outside the realm of the life God has for us as it’s explained in the Bible. Put another way, many choices we make either move us closer to God or further away from Him. Making even seemingly small decisions that separate us from God is called sin. We all do it, and we’ll continue to do so. And, even then, God will love us and passionately pursue us.

Good Shepherd celebrates Holy Eucharist every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Worship service is conducted in Malayalam and English on every other Sunday. Our liturgy for the Malayalam worship is the translated version of the Anglican order of service for Holy Eucharist which is a familiar liturgy for those who are from the Church of South India tradition.

Our story was born from the heart of God, transferring this vision to the heart of Pastor Alejandro F. Musumeci, along with his wife, Pastora Anna Maria Musumeci, who started having meetings at Ramada Inn Hotel in 1995. Since then, their Ministry has expanded throughout the State of California and other states. We have founded churches we oversee, in other cities; King City, Sacramento, Yuma, AZ; and San Luis, Mexico. Aside from that, we also support other Ministries and Missions in other Countries.
Our vision is to continue to expand the Kingdom of God in every area of our society, through the proclamation of the message of God’s love, manifested by the redeeming work of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
